Dec 9, 2009 - TRIO OF MILETICH FIGHTING SYSTEMS FIGHTERS SET TO COMPETE AT TFC 15 ON DEC 18

Kansas City, KS -- Since the mid-90s, the Miletich Fighting Systems training brand has been synonymous with some of the top names in the sport. And on Friday, Dec. 18, at the historic Memorial Hall in Kansas City, KS, three fighters representing the next wave of MFS fighters hoping to reach championship status will be featured at Titan Fighting Championships 15 (www.TitanFighting.com and www.Twitter.com/TitanFighting).

Tickets for TFC 15 are currently on-sale via Ticketmaster.com and all local Ticketmaster outlets.

Leading the MFS pack will be Adrenaline MMA veteran Ramiro "Junior" Hernandez, a 23-year old former lightweight who now competes at featherweight.

The 5-1 resident of Iowa is slated to take on the crowd-pleasing Mike Johnson, 10-6, in a 150 lbs. catchweight attraction.

"Pat Miletich stands behind his training and isn't afraid to put his young guns against good fighters," said Titan Fighting Championships President Joe Kelly. "Mike Johnson likes to slug it out and has a similar style to Junior. The fight between them on Dec. 18 is going to be an all out brawl and potentially the most exciting fight of the night."

Hernandez made his Titan debut on Oct. 2 and was also challenged by Brian Davidson, who was 4-0 at the time. After a slow start, Hernandez turned up the pressure and TKO'd Davidson at 3:01 of round 2, handing him his first career loss in the process. The victory became even more impressive in hindsight following Davidson's 0:29 TKO victory against Russell Patrick during the undercard of the Nov. 20 Strikeforce Challengers event.

In addition to Hernandez, TFC 15 will mark the professional MMA debut of Nick Spohn, who recently returned from Iowa after being brought out to Southern California to serve as a handpicked training partner for B.J. Penn in preparation for his UFC 107 encounter vs. Diego Sanchez.

Spohn's pro debut will take place vs. Missouri-native, Chris Andrade, 2-3.

"Andrade does not have a winning record at this time but he has a lot more time in the cage than Nick," said Kelly. "We felt because of Nick's advance level of training that it might not be fair to put him in with a fellow pro debuter. His entry into professional MMA is not your typical debut because the buzz surrounding him within the industry is strong. Spohn is truly a blue chip prospect and we are excited to have his debut at TFC 15 on Dec. 18."

Rounding out the trio is Rashad Brooks, an exciting light heavyweight who will also be tested against Clinton (MO) native Jerald "Jeb" Chiles, 9-1.

"Jeb is the top light heavyweight prospect in the Kansas City area and has the potential to go the next level," Kelly began. "And while Rashad currently doesn't have a winning record, he's re-focused now that he's working with MFS and is an exciting and dynamic striker. When I say exciting, expect spinning back fists and high kicks. He's going to cause a lot of problems for Jeb and an upset is possible."

In addition to Hernandez vs. Johnson, Spohn vs. Andrade, and Chiles vs. Brooks, TFC 15 will be headlined by the Kansas City return of current WEC lightweight James Krause, 10-2, who will move to welterweight in order to challenge Illinois native Kalel Robinson, 9-3. The night's co-main event will pit 16-2 featherweight sensation Eric Marriott vs. Sean Wilson, 19-9.
